Student Project
The Samovar tea house was founded by Jesse Jacobs in 2002. Growing up surrounded by tea culture, Jacobs understands that tea can be the perfect device for creating peace and harmony. The Samovar tea house invites people to slow down, to inhabit the present moment. It is a place to disconnect so that when they leave, their spirits will be elevated, nourished, and re-energized.
It was tasked with introducing the relaxing sensation of a good cup of tea in a Zen-like arrangement that would convey the message of 'carefree and live life' for those who wish to experience high-quality, refreshing tea while temporarily escaping their hectic lives.
The illustrations were hand-drawn to provide a sense of home and coziness and were intended to represent the full tea experience more realistically. Minimized usage of types and vibrant colors also created a sense of calm and serenity.
